The fuel crisis has widened and reached its intensity in the cities of southeastern and southwestern Libya, which are suffering from the lack of access to gasoline and gas, while black market activity has increased.
Getting a few liters of petrol or a bottle of gas takes more than 10 hours to stand in front of distribution stations that are not regularly supplied.
On the other hand, the state company Brega, which is responsible for marketing oil, denied the existence of a crisis, and said that fuel is available and that supplies are continuing, noting that it continues to supply its stations in all Libyan regions around the clock.
Several reports have recently said that gasoline is stolen and smuggled to neighboring countries before it reaches its destination, causing shortages at gas stations.
It is noteworthy that the Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Abdul Hamid Dabaiba, had issued a decision to cancel fuel subsidies, but he was subjected to great criticism that prompted him to retreat.
