The European Union has allocated 177 million euros to Morocco for post-earthquake reconstruction, the North African Post reported.
This decision was approved by the European Commission as part of the Comprehensive Program for the Reconstruction and Improvement of Disaster Areas (2024-2028).
The EIB has promised to provide Morocco with a loan of one billion euros for 5 years, which will be used to renovate schools, roads and hospitals.
A devastating earthquake struck Morocco on September 8, destroying entire neighborhoods, forcing thousands of residents to live in makeshift camps, and killing 2,901 people.
