Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received on Thursday at the Ittihadiya Palace the President of the Libyan Presidential Council, Mohamed Al-Menfi, during which several issues of strategic importance were highlighted.
In the talks with the exiled, President Sisi affirmed Egypt’s strong support for all efforts aimed at protecting Libya’s territorial integrity.
He also expressed Egypt’s support for the Libyan state institutions, with the aim of enabling them to play their role effectively, and to ensure the holding of presidential and parliamentary elections, to achieve the interests of the Libyan people and promote the path of stability and development in the country.
For his part, Al-Menfi praised Egypt’s comprehensive support for national reconciliation in Libya, stressing its vital role in unifying Libyan state institutions, and expressed his gratitude for Egypt’s efforts in supporting the path of national reconciliation and promoting stability in Libya.
The Spokesman for the Egyptian Presidency, Ahmed Fahmy, explained the importance of commitment to strengthening the unity and security of the Libyan state, and the need for all foreign forces and mercenaries to leave the territory of Libya.
Fahmy pointed to the importance of strengthening the capacities of Libyan state institutions to ensure the completion of the electoral process, in a way that strengthens the will of the Libyan people and preserves their supreme interests.
