The official spokesman for the Egyptian presidency, Mohamed Al-Homsani, denied what was reported in the media about the existence of an official invitation to the Coordination of Sudanese progress to visit Cairo.

Al-Homsani revealed that the visit of the head of the coordination and former Sudanese Prime Minister Abdullah Hamdok comes at his personal request with the aim of meeting with the leaders of the Sudanese political forces currently residing in Egypt, as well as meeting with some Egyptian academic and media elites.

Al-Homsani stressed the importance of focusing local and international efforts during the current stage on how to cease fire in Sudan and provide all means of support to help the brotherly Sudanese people in their current crisis, and then the possibility of consultation as a subsequent priority with the various Sudanese political and societal forces on how to move forward in the process of democratic transition and reconstruction in the Republic of Sudan.
