The Egyptian national football team qualified for the quarter-finals of the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics, after defeating its Spanish rival 2-1.

The match was held on Tuesday and was full of tension and excitement until the last moments, and the Pharaohs’ midfielder, Ibrahim Adel, scored Egypt’s two goals in the 40th and 62nd minutes, strengthening his country’s position in the tournament.

While Samuel Omorodion scored Spain’s only goal at the end of regular time, it was not enough to change the course of the match.

With this victory, the Egyptian team’s score rises to 7 points, topping Group Three and ahead of the Spanish team, which came in second with six points.

The Egyptian team tied with the Dominican Republic in the first round without a goal and achieved victory in the second-round match against Uzbekistan with a goal without a response.

The Egyptian team is scheduled to meet the runner-up of Group Four, which includes Mali, Japan, Paraguay and Israel.
