The Egyptian Football Association issued disciplinary decisions against players and officials following the match between Al-Ahly and Pyramids in the 31st round of the Egyptian League, which ended with Al-Ahly winning by one goal.

Moroccan defender Mohamed El-Sheeb, the right-back of Pyramids, received a three-match suspension and a fine of EGP 50,000 due to his violent intervention against Al-Ahly player Hussein El-Shahat.

A fine of EGP 25,000 was also imposed on Pyramids, while Al-Ahly received a fine of EGP 50,000. The association decided to ban 75 of its fans from attending two upcoming matches.

In addition, 13 people were referred to the Disciplinary Committee, including Mamdouh Abdel, CEO of Pyramids, Ahmed El-Shenawy, goalkeeper, and a number of prominent players such as Marawan Hamdy and Mahmoud Abdel-Ati Dunga. The referrals also included Ahmed Zaher, the team’s administrative manager.

The Clubs Association referred a complaint from Pyramids Club against Al Ahly board members Mohamed Serag and Mohamed El Garhy, in addition to the club’s executive director Saad Shalaby, and players from the team to the Disciplinary Committee for further evaluation and taking the necessary measures.

Mohamed El Shibi was sent off in a match against Al Ahly on July 23, 2024, after he quarreled with Al Ahly player Hussein El Shahat, who slapped El Shibi, and the referee intervened and showed El Shibi a red card due to his violent reaction.
