Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry stressed in a phone call with his Italian counterpart Antonio Tajani that reaching a comprehensive and immediate ceasefire in Gaza remains the only way to end the crisis situation in the Gaza Strip and limit the increase in violence in the region.
The Egyptian Foreign Ministry said the two ministers’ talks focused on various aspects of the deteriorating humanitarian and security situation in the Gaza Strip.
Shoukry also stressed the need for international parties to assume their responsibilities towards supporting the ceasefire in a way that allows full access to humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, as well as to prevent any Israeli attempts to displace Palestinians, the ministry added.
