Egypt’s Al Ahly, who aspire to retain the title, achieved a precious victory over Ghana’s Midiama with a goal to none, in a match hosted by the “Baba Yara” stadium on Friday, within the fourth group of the African Champions League.
Al-Ahli’s only goal was scored by Hussein Al-Shahat in the 48th minute of the meeting.
Al-Ahly raised its score to 9 points at the top of the group, 4 points behind Algeria’s Chabab Belouizdad and Tanzania’s Young Africans, while Mediama’s balance stopped at 4 points in last place.
Al Ahli will meet in the last round of Group D matches with Young Africans, and the first and second place winners will qualify for the quarter-finals of the tournament.
