The Egyptian Football Association announced the departure of Portuguese coach Rui Vitoria after being eliminated from the final round of the African Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.
The Federation said in a statement published on the X platform that the Board of Directors of the Egyptian Football Association decided, after its meeting to discuss technical and administrative reports on the participation of the national team in the African Nations Championship Côte d’Ivoire 2023, to thank the Portuguese Rui Vitoria and his assistant staff, while studying the CVs of foreign coaches and presenting them at the next meeting. The Council decided to approve the appointment of Mohamed Youssef as general coach of the first Egyptian national team until the selection of a foreign technical director and the formation of the rest of the device.
