The Democratic Republic of Congo qualified for the semi-finals of the African Cup of Nations football tournament held in Ivory Coast, after a big victory on Friday evening against its Guinean counterpart, 3-1, in the quarter-finals.
Guinea opened the scoring from a penalty kick successfully executed by Mohamed Bayo in the 20th minute, before the Congolese team turned the tables upside down by scoring three consecutive goals through Chancel Mpemba, Yoan Wessa (from the penalty spot) and Arthur Masuaku in the 27th, 65th and 82nd minutes, respectively.
The DR Congo will face in the semifinals (Golden Square), the winner of the match against Ivory Coast and Mali in the quarter-finals.
