The Libyan Ambulance Service announced the death of 6 Sudanese, and the injury of others with burns of varying degrees, after suffering a tragic accident on their way to the Libyan city of Kufra.
A team from the Kufra Ambulance and Emergency Service, in cooperation with the Department for Combating Illegal Migration, was assigned to move to the area of the incident south of Kufra, which is 240 kilometers away in the desert, and 4 charred bodies were recovered from the accident site, according to the directives of the Public Prosecution.
Ibrahim Belhassan, director of the Kufra branch, said the accident occurred in the Sahara Desert between Libya and Sudan for families from the displaced Sudanese community in Libya, explaining that the cars had about 16 people from two families, including women and children.
Belhassen confirmed that the accident killed four people who were charred inside the car, while two others died before arriving at the hospital.
It is noteworthy that the Libyan ambulance transferred the rest of the injured cases to the Kufra Teaching Hospital, where the necessary aid was provided to them, and then they were referred to Benghazi hospitals through the same device with military planes to arrive in Benghazi to complete their treatment there.
