General Said Chengriha, Chief of Staff of the Algerian Army, received on Sunday Jasper Wick, political director of the German Ministry of Defense, and the two sides are scheduled to discuss strengthening bilateral military cooperation.
The meeting was attended by officers and brigadiers of staff from the Algerian army, the Ministry of National Defense, as well as the German ambassador to Algeria and members of the German delegation.
The meeting dealt with opportunities for military cooperation and ways to develop coordination on common issues, and the two sides discussed global security challenges and local challenges in the Mediterranean basin and the African continent.
General Said Chengriha stressed the importance of strong relations between Algeria and Germany, stressing the readiness of the People’s National Army to strengthen military cooperation commensurate with the quality of relations between the two countries.
General Chengriha explained that the meeting will open new horizons for cooperation in the field of security and defense, expressing his determination to include cooperation with the German partner within a new dynamic to achieve common goals.
For his part, Jasper Viek praised the warm reception and stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation and consultation between Algeria and Germany, noting that this cooperation contributes to strengthening security and stability worldwide.
At the end of the meeting, General Said Chengriha expressed optimism about the future of military cooperation between Algeria and Germany, stressing that this dialogue will contribute to strengthening security and stability in the region.
