The Speaker of the Russian “Duma”, Vyacheslav Volodin, arrived in Algeria today, Monday, on an official visit aimed at strengthening parliamentary cooperation between the two countries.
According to a statement issued by the Algerian National People’s Assembly, the visit will witness discussions with the Speakers of both Houses of the Algerian Parliament on issues of cooperation and parliamentary activity.
Volodin’s arrival in Algeria comes after he made a working visit to Latin America, where his tour of Cuba, Venezuela and Nicaragua was announced. This move is considered part of Russian efforts to strengthen relations with various countries at the regional and international levels.
The Russian envoy for Middle East and North Africa affairs, Mikhail Bogdanov, emphasized the depth of these relations and their importance to Russian policy in the region.
Russian-Algerian relations are distinguished by their depth and strength in several fields, including military, scientific, cultural, and even strategic.
