The Central Bank of Egypt announced today a significant increase in remittances from Egyptians working abroad during last June, as they rose by 65.9% to reach about $2.6 billion, compared to about $1.5 billion in June 2023.

Remittances witnessed a significant improvement after implementing the reform measures announced on March 6, 2024, as remittances in February 2024 were estimated at about $1.3 billion, reflecting the positive impact of these measures.

The Central Bank also showed a significant increase in remittances during the period from April to June 2024, as they recorded an increase of 61.4% to reach about $7.5 billion, compared to about $4.6 billion in the same period of the previous year.
