The Dahmani Police Center received a report on Thursday, December 28, from a citizen regarding an attempted abduction of his 13-year-old daughter in the capital, Tripoli.

In the details, the perpetrator was sitting in his parked car with the car door open, claiming to be sick. The criminal asked the child to pick up something from the car seat. When she bent down, he tried to force her to get in, but she managed to escape from him.

The investigative members of the center identified the description of the car and arrested its driver, who denied the incident. However, by summoning the girl and her father, the girl identified the suspect. A detention order was issued against him, and he was referred to the prosecution.

The Public Relations Office of the Tripoli Security Directorate urged parents to caution their daughters not to interact with or respond to strangers or accept any invitations to get into a car for their safety.
