Argentine authorities have arrested 4 players from the Argentine team Vélez Sarsfield on charges of sexual assault, based on a complaint filed by a 24-year-old woman.
The complainant, defender Brian Cofrey, striker Abel Osorio, goalkeeper Sebastián Sousa and midfielder José Florentin were accused of committing the crime at the Tucumán Hotel, where the team was staying after its Argentine league match against Atletico Tucumán.
Juan Robles, a member of the prosecutor’s advocacy team, stated: “The prosecutor has announced that the four persons who attended this trial as defendants will be placed in pretrial detention.”
“The four individuals will be deprived of their liberty pending the custody of the Tucumán County Crimes Against Individuals Division,” Robles said.
For his part, goalkeeper Sousa denied these accusations through his account in the application of “Instagram” on the eighth of March
