The Arab Parliament stressed the necessity of moving forward towards holding parliamentary and presidential elections in Libya and completing the postponed elections to enhance security and stability in the country.
This came during the fifth and closing plenary session of the fourth session of the third legislative term, which was held at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States in Cairo.
Members of the Libyan House of Representatives and members of the Arab Parliament participated in the session: Abdul Salam Nasya, Hassan Barghouti, Abu Salah Shalabi, and Ahlam Al-Lafi.
The Parliament discussed the overall current situation in the Arab countries, especially the Palestinian issue, where it affirmed its support for the Palestinian issue and the rights of the Palestinian people in accordance with the resolutions of international legitimacy.
The session discussed draft resolutions and laws submitted by parliamentary committees after their preparatory meetings, with the aim of following up on political events and developments in Arab countries and seeking to resolve crises and issues through political solutions.
The session discussed the economic conditions in the Arab region, affirmed its support for joint Arab action, and discussed draft parliamentary visions to confront the travel of terrorists and criminalize their transfer between countries, in addition to strengthening Arab security.
The session also touched on the dangerous developments in Sudan and warned of the great risks facing the capabilities of the Sudanese people, their security, stability, safety and territorial integrity, and stressed the impact of these developments on the Arab national security system.
The session called for reaching a final and comprehensive political solution to the Yemeni crisis to end the suffering of the Yemeni people.
