Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune received a number of Arab leaders participating in the seventh summit of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum.
Iraqi President Abdellatif Rashid, Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Cheikh Ghazouani, Tunisian President Kais Saied and the exiled head of the Libyan Presidential Council Mohamed Younes arrived at Houari Boumediene airport in Algiers.

Gas exporters held a high-profile ministerial meeting in Algeria on Friday in preparation for Saturday’s summit.
The GEC Forum has 12 permanent members including Algeria, Bolivia, Egypt, Equatorial Guinea, Iran, Libya, Nigeria, Qatar, Russia, Trinidad and Tobago, the United Arab Emirates and Venezuela, in addition to seven observer members.
According to the forum’s data, its members own 70% of the world’s proven gas reserves and provide 51% of LNG exports, Algeria is the largest exporter of natural gas in Africa, and its exports are in increasing demand from European countries such as Italy.
