Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune offered his condolences to the families of the victims of a horrific accident involving the MC El Beidh football club, which left two people dead and 11 injured.

President Tebboune expressed his deep sadness on his official account on the “X” platform, saying: “It is with great pain and sadness that I received the news of the tragedy that befell the coaching staff and players of MC El Beidh. In the face of this great loss, I extend my sincere condolences and sympathy to the families of the victims, and my wishes for a speedy recovery for the injured. We belong to God and to Him we return.”

The MC El Beidh delegation was on its way to the eastern province of Tizi Ouzou to face JS Kabylie, where its bus was involved in a tragic traffic accident that led to the death of assistant coach Khaled Muftah and goalkeeper Zakaria Bouziani, while 11 others were injured.

Algerian Minister of Youth and Sports Abderrahmane Hammad expressed his condolences to the families of the victims, stressing in the message of condolences that he was “deeply saddened and saddened” to receive the news of the death of the goalkeeper and assistant coach.

As a result of this tragedy, the Algerian Football Federation FAF decided to suspend football activity until further notice, in solidarity with MC El Beidh after the fatal incident.
