Mohamed Issa, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs in the “Interim Government”, discussed cooperation with Malian President Assimi Goïta in the security file, especially in the field of combating terrorism.
On the sidelines of Libya’s participation in the meeting of the Alliance of African States, Issa met with Malian President Assimi Goïta, in the presence of Malian Prime Minister Choguel Maiga.
The two sides discussed bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to enhance them. Fayez Issa also met with Malian Foreign Minister Abdoulaye Diop, who stressed the importance of strengthening political ties between the two countries.
The Libyan official praised the role of the Republic of Mali in the African arena, noting the importance of strengthening cooperation at all levels, especially in the field of security and combating terrorism.
In a statement from the Libyan Foreign Ministry, Issa thanked Mali’s co-operation with Libya on regional issues, including coordination at the Sahelo-Saharan headquarters grouping.
