UN Envoy to Libya, Abdoulaye Bathily, held discussions with the Head of the High Council of State, Mohamed Takala, regarding the UN mission’s plans to convene a meeting of Libyan parties.
A statement by the High Council of State said the objective of the meeting is to bridge divergent viewpoints, resolve conflicts, support national reconciliation efforts, and establish a democratic process that is universally accepted.
According to the Council’s media office, Takala reiterated the High Council of State’s acceptance of Bathily’s invitation to join the national dialogue, which it said was based on national constants and aligns with the constitutional declaration.
It also noted that the dialogue supports the mission’s endeavours to achieve elections, deemed one of the most critical national entitlements.
