Syrian Ambassador Maher Anan Badour praised Algeria’s positions and its constant defense of Arab issues during a meeting with Prime Minister Nazir al-Arabawi at the Government Palace on Wednesday.

The Syrian ambassador referred to the noble positions taken by Algeria in support of Syria, especially in the face of previous attempts to undermine its stability.

According to the Prime Minister’s statement of interests, the meeting was an opportunity to review bilateral relations between the two countries and developments in the region. In particular, the ongoing “Zionist” aggression against the Palestinian people, including the situation in the Gaza Strip, as the same source explained.

Syria appointed diplomat Maher Anan as the new ambassador to Algeria last December, succeeding Ambassador Namir Wahib al-Ghanim.
