A Sudanese delegation from the Coordination of Civil Democratic Forces (TAQADUM) arrived in Juba, the capital of South Sudan, on Wednesday, led by Omar al-Digair, replacing the head of the coalition calling for an end to the war, Abdullah Hamdok, who was absent from the visit due to a sudden illness.

The Coordination of Civil Democratic Forces (TAQADDUM) had previously announced that a delegation led by Abdullah Hamdok would head to Juba at the invitation of the President of the Republic of South Sudan, Salva Kiir Mayardit, indicating that the visit comes within the framework of the program’s foreign tours to mobilize and integrate international and regional efforts to help give priority to the option of a peaceful solution to end the war in Sudan.

The official spokeswoman for “Taqaddam”, Rasha Awad, exposed the head of the coordination, Abdullah Hamdouk, to a health ailment and said: “Yes, Hamdok could not reach a health condition and the delegation of Taqadam will meet in advance Thursday,” noting that, Omar Al-Digair, will head the delegation of “Taqaddam”.

Awad added that the meeting comes within the framework of “Taqaddam” contacts with the regional environment to push for a negotiated solution to the war crisis, especially for the countries of the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD), which submitted an invitation to “Taqaddum” for a consultative meeting on the sidelines of the recent summit, in the Ugandan city of Entebbe.
