The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Egypt revealed that the number of Sudanese who arrived according to Egyptian Foreign Ministry data reached 508,827 until the end of last February.

UNHCR’s report showed that 267,227 Sudanese registered as asylum-seekers, divided between 138,958 women and 128,269 men.

UNHCR indicated that the governorates of Cairo and Giza are the areas of concentration of refugees and asylum seekers of Sudanese nationality.

The UN agency confirmed its response to support Sudanese refugees during this year with $ 54.7 million.

An estimated 181,472 families have fled the war in Sudan, while 433,140 Sudanese have fled alone.
