The Federal Minister of Health in Sudan, Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim, announced that the volume of destruction and vandalism in the health sector in the country, due to the war, reached about $ 11 billion.
In a press conference on Saturday, Ibrahim called for the need to rehabilitate and reconstruct 25% of hospitals in Sudan, in order to improve medical services provided to citizens.
The minister explained that 75% of the total hospitals in the country are partially functioning, due to the sabotage of medical devices and equipment and networks.
Some hospitals, such as al-Hassahisa and Darfur hospitals, have been completely destroyed, he said.
