Sudanese Foreign Minister Ali al-Sadiq said that the refusal of the commander of the Rapid Support Forces to integrate his forces into the Sudanese army is the main reason behind the outbreak of war in the country.
In remarks during his participation in the Antalya Diplomatic Forum, the minister pointed out that the Sudanese government, despite being subjected to this war, remains committed to peaceful negotiation and is open to all diplomatic initiatives and platforms.
The minister explained that the Rapid Support Militia’s repudiation of the implementation of the terms of the Jeddah Agreement was a major obstacle to achieving progress in the negotiations, in addition to external interference in Sudanese affairs, which contributed to the failure of diplomatic efforts, pointing to the government’s refusal to deal with it due to its lack of neutrality required.
This statement highlights the complexity of the political and security situation in Sudan, and the impact of internal and external factors on the current context of the Sudanese crisis.
