On Wednesday, the Sennar Youth Gathering revealed the killing and missing of more than a thousand civilians during the Rapid Support Forces’ invasion of areas in Sennar State in central Sudan.

According to the report issued by the group, the humanitarian situation in the state is worsening due to violence and the disruption of communications and electricity.

On June 26, the Rapid Support Forces took control of the areas of the Moya Mountains, which are about 40 kilometers from Sennar. From there, the forces conducted a bypass operation via land roads to seize the city of Sinja, and then expanded to Dinder, Kirkuk, and other areas.

The report stated that the number of missing persons in Sinja locality is estimated at 850, as many of them were unable to communicate with their families due to the outage of communications and electricity in Sinja, Al-Suki, Al-Dindar and its villages.

The report stated that 297 civilians were killed since the Rapid Support entered Jabal Muya, and the number of casualties is expected to be higher due to the impossibility of verifying the death toll numbers in Sinja and Dinder.

The cities of Sennar, Sinja, Dindir, Suki, and Kirkuk have witnessed a complete outage of communications and electricity for four days.

The report indicated that there are difficulties in obtaining food in Dinder and Suki, with the markets in the city of Sennar closed and many merchants taking their goods out.

The report explained that 55,000 displaced people from Sennar State arrived in Gedaref without their conditions being reconciled, while many people are still stranded in the villages of Dinder, facing difficult conditions due to the muddy terrain and heavy rains.

The difficult conditions led to the death of people suffering from chronic diseases and infants due to long walks.

The report identified conflict areas in Sennar State, including Jabal Muwayya, Saqdi, Doud, Al-Balaihab, Doba, Um Shouka, Abu Hajjar, Al-Dindar, Al-Dali, Al-Mazzam, Sinja, and Al-Suki.

The report noted that the Rapid Support Forces committed terrible violations against civilians inside Sinja, as they invaded the city’s neighborhoods and turned three of them into military barracks after expelling their residents by force of arms.

The Sennar Observatory for Human Rights said that army aircraft bombed the neighborhoods of the city of Sinja at least 10 times during the past days, causing the destruction of homes and facilities.
