An official at Sudan’s Interior Ministry has revealed a plan to take legal action to control the growing foreign presence in the country after the outbreak of war in Sudan.
Major General Salah al-Din Adam Omar, director of the General Directorate of Public Affairs at the General Directorate of Passports, stressed the importance of the move in light of the increasing number of foreigners and their participation in the war in the ranks of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) through acts of vandalism and attacks on public and private property in Khartoum state as well as carrying weapons, according to the Sudanese News Agency.
Major General Adam Omar noted that the government has taken measures to review the civil registry and arrest violators of obtaining Sudanese citizenship illegally and has formed an identity review committee that will ban questionable national numbers.
