Sudan’s Foreign Ministry has called for the Rapid Support Forces to be classified as a terrorist organization.

The Foreign Ministry also called on Sudan in a statement to “assume its responsibility towards the countries that fuel the continuation of the war in Sudan,” stressing the need for full and accurate implementation of the Jeddah Declaration and subsequent commitments as a necessary condition for any peace efforts.

According to a UN report, between 10,000 and 15,000 people were killed in one city in Sudan’s West Darfur region last year in ethnic violence carried out by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF).
