At least two civilians were killed, and four others wounded on Monday in an aerial bombardment by Sudanese army warplanes on the city of Mujalid in West Kordofan state.
The civilian committees in West Kordofan state stated that the airstrikes of the armed forces targeted residential areas in the western part of the city of Mujlad, especially the Andalus neighborhood, causing casualties and injuries, including women and children, as well as damage to a number of residential buildings.
The committees expressed their strong condemnation of the air attacks carried out by the Sudanese Air Force on the city of Mujidal and stressed that targeting civilians with air attacks in areas where there are no military activities constitutes a crime and a violation of humanitarian law and contradicts the principles of international laws for the protection of civilians in times of armed conflict.
An armed group wearing a Rapid Support uniform attacked a weekly market in the Adiya area of West Kordofan state, killing at least four people, including members of the attacking force.
The Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces have been fighting a devastating war since mid-April 2023, leaving more than 13,000 dead, and about 8 million displaced and refugees.
