The Sudanese Foreign Minister-designate, Hussein Ali, met with the Acting Iranian Foreign Minister, Ali Kani, in the capital, Tehran, and they agreed to expedite the resumption of the work of the two countries’ embassies.
Hussein Awad Ali conveyed the condolences of the Chairman of the Sovereignty Council, the Sudanese government and the Sudanese people to Ali Bagheri Kani on the death of Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi and Foreign Minister Hussein Amir Abdullahian and their companions in a recent helicopter crash.
Hussein Awad Ali affirmed the solidarity of the Sudanese government and people with Iran in this painful incident, expressing his confidence that Iran will quickly overcome this tragedy thanks to its well-established and long-established institutions.
Ali Bagheri expressed his deep thanks for the support and assistance that Iran received from the Sudanese leadership, whether through the touching telegrams of condolence or the current visit of the Sudanese Foreign Minister, which reflects the depth of the brotherly relations between the two countries.
The two sides held a discussion session that discussed ways to enhance cooperation in various fields, after the recent resumption of diplomatic relations between them. They agreed to expedite the opening of the two countries’ embassies under the leadership of each other’s ambassadors, to contribute to pushing bilateral relations to the highest levels.
