Sudan’s ambassador to the United Nations, Harith Idris, has accused the UAE of supporting multilateral aggression against the Sudanese army.

Idris delivered his speech to the UN Security Council, where he stressed that the Sudanese Armed Forces are still facing a multilateral attack, in which many countries participate, and that the UAE supports this aggression financially and by providing arms supplies through um Jaras airport.

Idris explained that the UAE has supported the Rapid Support Forces with artillery, heavy weapons, and drones, in addition to recruiting children and bringing mercenaries from various countries to participate in the conflict in Sudan.

He stressed that the Sudanese army is committed to applying international humanitarian conventions in protecting his country since the outbreak of the war, which was supported by countries in the Darfur region.

The Sudanese representative stressed that the Rapid Support Forces have released thousands of detainees, and that UN reports indicate the extermination of between 10 and 15 thousand civilians, stressing that the prosecutor of the Criminal Court did not name them in his report.

He defended his Government’s position on the ICC, while objecting to several points raised by the Court’s representatives.

In another context, Sudan expelled 15 Emirati diplomats from the country, in response to the summons of the acting charge d’affaires of the Abu Dhabi embassy about a month ago, in a development that increases diplomatic tension between the two countries.
