Eight civilians, including children, were killed in an attack by gunmen on the village of Takal al-Farjab in the Muzdalifah area of North Kordofan state in Sudan.

The attack resulted in the victims being shot dead and slaughtered from vein to vein, and the gunmen also cut off the fingers of a woman after she was hit on the head.

North Kordofan has seen frequent fierce battles between the army and the RSF, and security risks and suffering continue in the area.

Two weeks ago, Abdul Khaliq Abdul Latif, governor of North Kordofan, extended the curfew across the state from 10 pm. to 5 am.

He instructed the security agencies, local authorities and concerned authorities to take all necessary measures to ensure the implementation of this decision.

The measure follows an earlier decision in August to impose a curfew against the backdrop of escalating hostilities between the army and the RSF within the state.
