A Director of an ammunition factory has been quoted as saying that the factory’s operations will halt during February strikes, resulting in a significant impact to Ukraine’s supplies.
Finland’s national public-broadcasting company, Yle, quoted the director as saying that the factory, affiliated with the Norwegian-Finnish “Nammo” group of companies, does not directly export to Ukraine but does so through relevant government ministries. He indicated that this will inevitably impact their supplies.
The director affirmed that it is difficult to estimate the expected damage to the institution but mentioned that the factory can compensate for production shortfalls through overtime work.
It is worth noting that the industrial workers’ union “Teollisuusliitto” has announced a two-day strike (on February 1 and 2), followed by other unions declaring their intention to organize strikes on February 1 in protest against government reforms in the country.
