Four people were stabbed on Monday, including Archbishop Mar Mary Emmanuel, during a mass held at the Church of Christ the Good Shepherd in the western Sydney suburb of Wakeley.
New South Wales Police said four people were attacked and the perpetrator was arrested, without further information about the incident as a result of ongoing investigations.
The stabbing was broadcast live on the church’s Facebook account, where footage showed Father Mar Marie Emmanuel being attacked with a knife in his face while preaching the Assyrian Bible.
Earlier on Saturday, 6 people were killed and 8 others injured in a stabbing incident at the Westfield Bondai Junction shopping mall, in the Australian city of Sydney.
