Spanish intelligence has cleared Morocco of charges previously brought against the queen about her involvement in spying on Spanish officials.
The testimony of senior Spanish intelligence officials before the European Parliament committee tasked with investigating the use of the Israeli spyware Pegasus confirmed the report of the Spanish counterintelligence unit, and no charges were brought against Morocco in the case of hacking the phones of Spanish officials.
The Spanish intelligence service had previously cleared Morocco of accusations of spying on members of the Spanish government in June 2022, however, the Spanish People’s Party and Vox did not change their position on accusing Morocco of interfering because of its support for the autonomy plan for Western Sahara.
