The Spanish National Police announced the deportation of a 44-year-old Moroccan immigrant to his country after a long history of legal violations.
The migrant, whose name has not been revealed, was arrested more than thirty times in Gerona province and convicted five times on charges including crimes against property and assaulting law enforcement officials.
The operation was carried out, in cooperation with “the Mosos de Ecuadra” police, and resulted in the arrest of the man during a joint campaign against multiple crimes in the province.
The Girona immigration squad verified his illegal status in the country and asked a judge to transfer him to an immigration detention center in Barcelona.
It is noteworthy that since the beginning of 2024, Spain has intensified its efforts to deport migrants to Morocco, especially from the Ceuta region, and this included a large number of young people and teenagers who reported escaping difficult conditions such as unemployment, poverty and hunger in Morocco.
