South Africa’s Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Ronald Lamola, welcomed Turkey’s accession to the genocide case filed against Israel before the International Court of Justice.
Lamola said in a press statement in the South African capital, Pretoria, that “Turkey’s accession is evidence of the strength of the case.”
He pointed out that “the Turkish move will bring a new perspective to the case” filed against Israel, saying that “Turkey’s accession will enable the court to look at the case from a new perspective.”
Last Wednesday, Turkey submitted an official request to join the genocide case filed by South Africa against Israel before the International Court of Justice.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan confirmed yesterday, Wednesday, that his country “will stand against Israel’s efforts to ignite the entire region,” stressing the continuation of efforts “to hold accountable the killers of children who committed genocide” in the Gaza Strip.
