The “White River” Magistrates Court in South Africa has decided to withdraw charges against 95 Libyan nationals who were detained in a case related to a secret training camp in Mpumalanga.
The court ruled to dismiss the charges related to violations of immigration laws and referred the case to the Ministry of Home Affairs to deal with it administratively, according to African media.
The court had appealed the case at the urgent request of the defense representatives, as the spokesperson for the National Prosecuting Authority in Mpumalanga, Monica Nyoswa, presented the detainees to the court on Thursday morning to consider their case related to violations of immigration laws, according to the newspaper “Sotian”.
The case was adjourned until August 26 after the defendants appeared in court on August 6 to consult with their lawyers and conduct further investigations.
