The Algerian company “Sonelgaz” announced the partial start of operation of the largest electricity production station in the country in Mostaganem Governorate, which will contribute to enhancing the national production capacity by 450 megawatts.
The company’s statement said: “Sonelgaz began, as of Thursday, July 4, 2024, the partial operation of the hybrid electricity production station in Mostaganem, with the first gas turbines entering service.”
The statement explained, “This step comes as a first stage to strengthen the national production capacity by 450 megawatts.”
The statement pointed out that “this major energy facility is added to a group of important energy projects that Sonelgaz has succeeded in bringing into service during the past few months. These projects will enhance Sonelgaz’s national capabilities and ensure the provision of energy to citizens more effectively.”
