US President Joe Biden said he warned Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu not to repeat the mistake made by the United States by intervening in Ukraine, before correcting the matter and saying I mean Iraq and Afghanistan.
This came during his interview with the American channel “MSNBC”, on Saturday, and Biden said: “I sat down with the man (Netanyahu) and told him look, don’t repeat the same mistake we made, the United States made a mistake even though we pursued Osama bin Laden (the leader of al-Qaeda) until we reached him, but we should not have entered Ukraine, I mean Iraq and Afghanistan was not necessary, and caused more problems than solved.”
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova commented on what Biden said and wrote via “Telegram”: “They say that Biden confused Ukraine and Afghanistan, no he did not mix it, he simply failed to hide inside him what everyone realizes, the United States has stained itself with shame and blood with its Ukrainian project.”
Biden has previously confused Ukraine and Gaza in his statement about U.S. plans to drop humanitarian aid by air.
