President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi of Egypt discussed with the head of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), William Burns, the developments in the situation in the Gaza Strip.

The two sides agreed to continue intensive consultation and coordination to achieve the goals of the ceasefire, the protection of civilians, the activation of the two-state solution, and the issue of stability in the Middle East.

The official spokesman for the Egyptian presidency, Counselor Ahmed Fahmy, stated that the meeting witnessed confirmation of the strength of the Egyptian-American strategic partnership, and Burns conveyed President Biden’s praise and appreciation for Egypt’s tireless efforts in advancing the path of calm in the Gaza Strip, the ceasefire and the exchange of detainees, in addition to its continuous pivotal role in providing and entering humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip since the outbreak of the crisis.
