The Minister of Local Government of the Libyan Government of National Unity, Badreddine Al-Toumi, signed a memorandum of understanding with his Palestinian counterpart, Majdi Abdel Latif, to strengthen cooperation in the field of municipal work and local administration.
This step came during the visit of the Palestinian minister to Tripoli, to participate in the fortieth session of the Council of Arab Ministers of Housing and Construction and the Fifth Arab Ministerial Forum on Housing and Urban Development, organized by the Ministry of Housing and Construction of the Government of National Unity.
The memorandum stipulates in its articles to enhance cooperation, exchange experiences, organize training courses and joint work meetings to exchange experience and knowledge, and hold scientific seminars to improve performance and familiarity with modern methods of organizing municipal work and local administration, in addition to joint cooperation in the field of urban planning and sustainable development, especially in the fields of integrated urban planning, green construction, environmental assessment of urban plans, national spatial planning, and the uses of smart technology in planning and spatial information systems.
The memorandum also included the regular exchange of publications, publications, research, magazines and legislation related to municipal work and local administration and its mechanism of work, in addition to activating twinning agreements or joint cooperation between municipalities in the State of Libya with the units of Palestinian local authorities to exchange services and knowledge.
