In a surprising development, Egyptian artist Sherine Abdel Wahab broke her silence regarding her crisis with her ex-husband, artist Hossam Habib, accusing him of stealing from her and sending a distress call to the public and officials.

In statements she made to the local press, Sherine revealed that she was robbed by Hossam, who took a 2008 “Range Rover” and two Rolex watches without her asking him to return them.

Sherine indicated that Hossam was responsible for the financial matters at her work, but she did not know the amount of money he stole from her. She also mentioned that he broke her personal safe and took its contents, and verbally assaulted her without her confronting him.

Hossam demanded that Sherine pay $200,000 as a result of his management of her business in recent years. Although she agreed to his request and fulfilled his wish, she described his role in her professional life as limited to helping her get on stage at her concerts.

Sherine confirmed in her statements that Hossam Habib threatens her, expressing her concern for her daughters, saying: “Hossam Habib threatens me, I am not a young girl and I have two daughters in the most dangerous stage of their lives, I appeal to the officials, this man has ruined me and threatens me with my daughters, and he says things that will land him in prison.”

In another development, Sherine filed an official complaint against Hossam Habib, accusing him of assaulting her inside her studio in the Fifth Settlement area in Cairo.

She stated that a quarrel broke out between them during his visit to her, which turned into a fistfight, and ended with Hossam hitting Sherine on the head with a bottle, which resulted in her sustaining a head injury.
