A state of high security alert prevailed at Orly Airport in the French capital, Paris, after a “Transavia” plane landed from the Moroccan city of Agadir, following a bomb alert.
The “Boeing 737” plane was received by security units immediately upon landing on the runway, based on an emergency request from the pilot.
According to reports from French and Moroccan media, this alert resulted from a misinterpretation by a flight attendant who believed there was a bomb on board the plane, which was carrying 153 passengers.
The flight attendant activated the “Bluetooth” feature on his phone and found several devices available for communication with the same name, which led to the belief that there was a serious threat.
“Transavia” and the relevant authorities immediately verified the safety of the plane and its passengers, where a thorough inspection of the plane confirmed that there was no real threat.
The incident led to a temporary delay and tension at the security level, but things returned to normal after confirming the safety of the situation on board the plane and at the airport.
It is noteworthy that Orly Airport witnessed an air traffic controllers’ strike on May 25, 2024, which led to the cancellation of about 70% of flights, greatly affecting air traffic and leading to disruptions in flight schedules.
