French cinema is facing a scandal after the Paris police detained prominent directors on charges of sexual assault and rape.
At least nine actresses have made serious accusations against directors Benoit Jacquot and Jacques Doyon.
Judith Goodrich, one of the complainants, claimed that Jacquot raped her when she was 14 years old. He denies these accusations, saying that their relationship was a love affair.
Goodrich’s relationship with director Jacquot began in 1986 during the filming of the movie “Les Mendiants,” and she continued her relationship with him for six years, describing that period as being “in the grip” of Jacquot.
Similar accusations were also reported against Jacques Doyon, where a 15-year-old actress reported that he sexually assaulted her while he was directing a film.
