The Egyptian national team’s technical staff announced the presence of Mohamed Salah on the team’s roster that will play the matches between Burkina Faso and Guinea Bissau in the third and fourth round of the African qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.

The announcement came on the official page of the Egyptian Football Association on the social networking site (Facebook), and the team’s roster included: Goalkeepers: Mohamed El-Shenawy, Mostafa Schubert, Mohamed Awad, Mahdi Soliman, and defenders: Mohamed Abdel Moneim, Rami Rabia, Yasser Ibrahim, Ahmed Ramadan, Mohamed Hani, Akram Tawfiq, Mohamed Hamdy and Ahmed Fattouh.

As for the list of midfielders, it included Marwan Attia, Hamdi Fathi, Ahmed Nabil “Koka”, Imam Ashour, Ahmed Sayed “Zizou” and Nasser Maher, and in the attack, Mohamed Salah, Mustafa Fathi, Mahmoud Hassan “Trezeguet”, Mustafa Mohamed, Mohamed Al-Shami, Ahmed Amin. , Mohammed Sherif.

It is noteworthy that Salah missed the Egyptian national team’s last two matches against New Zealand and Croatia in the friendly Egyptian Capital Cup tournament.

The next two matches are the first test for the current technical director, Hossam Hassan, who took over the leadership, succeeding Portuguese Rui Vitoria, who was dismissed after the team’s exit from the round of sixteen in the African Cup of Nations at the beginning of this year.

The Egyptian national team occupies first place in the first group of the African qualifiers with six points after winning the first two matches, two points ahead of Burkina Faso and Guinea Bissau, which occupy second and third places, and Sierra Leone and Ethiopia come in fourth and fifth places, respectively, while the Djibouti national team is at the bottom of the standings without points.
