Russian players Daniil Medvedev and Andrei Rublev reached the quarter-finals of the Madrid Tennis Games after a remarkable performance.

Medvedev, ranked fourth in the world, advanced to the next round after beating Kazakhstan’s Alexander Bublik 7-6, 6-4.

On the other hand, world number eight Rublev qualified after beating Dutchman Talon Khreikspor 6-2, 6-4.

This outstanding performance was a significant addition to the players’ career in the tournament.

Although dirt is not Medvedev’s favorite surface, his progress to the quarter-finals demonstrates his strength and consistency.

Medvedev is expected to face in the next round the winner of the match between Spaniard Rafael Nadal and Czech Jeri Lehička.

Rublev has shown great consistency in the tournament, reaching the quarter-finals without losing a set in three games, and will face in the next round the winner of Spain’s Carlos Alcaras and Germany’s Jan-Lennard Struff.
