Russian high-tech companies participated in the “GITEX Africa 2024” exhibition, which was held in Marrakesh, Morocco, from May 29 to 31.

This event is considered one of the largest exhibitions of digital solutions in Africa, where Russian companies presented their products in various fields such as cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, urban mobility, public administration, industrial process automation, and biometrics.

The participation of Russian companies came within the “Made in Moscow” event organized by the Russian Capital Export Center, with the aim of promoting the products of Russian companies specialized in high technology.

The exhibition provided the opportunity for visitors to the Russian pavilion to learn about advanced innovations and discuss prospects for cooperation and ways to launch joint projects in Morocco.

At the opening ceremony of the “Made in Moscow” pavilion, Russia’s Trade Representative in Morocco Alexei Andreev said, “The Moroccan high-tech market has unconditional prospects for Russian companies. There is a growing understanding in Morocco of the need to ensure digital sovereignty in key sectors of the economy by diversifying access to… Modern technological solutions, and this is the area where we see opportunities for great cooperation.”

Andreev added that the Russian government is creating conditions for Russian companies to enter foreign markets through the “Digital Trade Attaché” service, which supports information technology companies in export activities and facilitates dialogue between companies.

It is noteworthy that many Russian companies are active in Morocco, such as Kaspersky, which occupies a large share of the Moroccan cybersecurity market. The Moroccan Ministry of Agriculture is also implementing a pilot project to digitize the agricultural industries sector using artificial intelligence, which reflects the fruitful cooperation between the two countries in the field of technology.
