A Russian special forces officer, who heads the marine drone development project, announced the development of a new suicide boat called “Morena-300S”.

This marine drone has a range of up to 250 km, which can be extended to 500 km using additional tanks, and a speed of up to 45 km/h. The boat carries a war payload of up to 500 kg and features a satellite navigation system and advanced continuous navigation devices.

The “Morena-300S” drone is designed to support combat operations with fire, reconnaissance of marine and coastal targets, and conduct marine patrols for filming and sending video to the command center in real time. Some experts liken this drone to the Ukrainian Magura drone used to attack Russian warships.

At the “Army-2024 forum”, Russia also showcased a new drone called “Thunder”, which has a high flight speed and the ability to hit air defense systems with anti-radar missiles.

The drone can carry munitions weighing up to 2,000 kg, including guided bombs weighing 100, 200 and 300 kg, and guided missiles weighing 100 and 500 kg. The drone is equipped with missile suspension points and a jet engine and has a compartment for hiding munitions inside its body.

Commenting on the developments, the editor-in-chief of the Russian magazine “Kiran Drone”, Denis Fedotinov, said: “Drones are one of the most threatening weapons today, and the armed forces have not been ready to confront FPV drones in recent years, so the Army-2024 forum focuses on showcasing drones and their development technologies.”

The forum also unveiled other drones, including a transport plane with special specifications, in addition to new weapons, armored vehicles and military equipment.
